NYK signed a multi-year time charter contract with Osaka Gas International Transport Inc. on September 6 for a new LNG carrier.
The vessel, ‘Grace Freesia’ comes furnished with a WinGD-made dual-fuel slow-speed diesel engine and a reliquification system that has superior fuel-consumption efficiency and can operate on marine gas oil or boil-off gas.
The cargo tank is a 174,000 cubic meter capacity membrane-type tank that accentuates a re-liquefaction system and can use surplus boil-off gas efficiently. To restrain the boil-off rate in the cargo tank, advanced insulating materials are used. It comprehends significantly more productive operations.

In March this year, NYK released the updated “NYK Group ESG Story 2022,” which introduces initiatives for incorporating ESG into the Group’s administration policies outlined in the “NYK Group ESG Story” released in February earlier.
