‘Asuka III’ launched

NYK Cruises is the cruise division of the Japanese shipping company Nippon Yusen Kaisha. The listed NYK Group is one of the world’s largest shipping companies. The 229-meter-long and almost 30-meter-wide ASUKA III has an LNG drive. The number of cabins is 385; this corresponds to a passenger capacity of 744 people at double occupancy. The crew is estimated at 470 employees.

The new building includes numerous solutions tailored to the Japanese market. The spa area, for example, offers the ship’s guests a Japanese open-air bath. The ASUKA III will be delivered in spring 2025. The ship will be completed at the outfitting pier by the time of handover. Completion will be followed by the Ems crossing and the obligatory test runs.
