NYK participated in the LNG Producer-Consumer Conference 2021 held on October 5 and introduced the NYK Group’s efforts toward zero-emission shipping, says a press release published on their website.

About the conference

The LNG Producer-Consumer Conference has been held annually since 2012 as a platform for cooperation between producing and consuming countries to share the long-term supply and demand outlook for LNG and to make the trading market more transparent. This year’s conference, the tenth of its kind, discussed the roles and expectations that LNG will play in the next decade amid the global trend toward decarbonization.

Compliance with NYK

Toshi Nakamura, an executive officer at NYK, participated in the session “The Way of Producing and Using Clean LNG and talked about NYK’s LNG bunkering business as a bridge solution, compliance with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) regulations on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions,” the issuance of Japan’s first transition bond, and the future utilization of ammonia-fueled vessels.
