Ocean Yield has announced the acquisition of CapeOmega Gas Transportation AS, securing ownership in ten modern LNG carriers. The deal was made in partnership with KKR through managed investment vehicles.
Investment in LNG carriers
Seven of the LNG carriers are already in operation, with three newbuilds scheduled for delivery by 2026. All vessels are on long-term charters with top-tier energy companies, including Shell, Engie, and QatarEnergy. The contracts average nine years in duration, with optional extensions pushing them up to 16 years.
The investment is expected to add approximately USD 120 million to Ocean Yield’s adjusted EBITDA backlog. This marks a significant step in the company’s continued expansion in the LNG sector and its strategy of securing long-term, stable revenues.
The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2025.
