Oil Carriers Gets Excluded from Coronavirus Scare Ban

  • Kuwait excludes oil carriers from ban on foreign ships to fight the virus.
  • Ships from and to South Korea, Italy, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Iraq are banned.

According to a Reuters report, Kuwait has exempted oil carrying ships from the ban it has placed on foreign ships. 

Notice from authorities

According to a notice, the ban to foreign ships from departing to or arriving from several countries is to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The notice, dated Feb. 25, has banned ships from and to South Korea, Italy, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Iraq.

In a separate notice dated Feb. 25, the authorities said that oil sector ships are excluded from the ban.
