Ocean Network Express (ONE) has achieved a remarkable milestone in global shipping as its vessel ONE Innovation set a new world record by loading 22,233 TEU, the highest ever recorded on any containership to date. This achievement marks a new chapter in the company’s journey of growth, innovation, and competitiveness in the container shipping industry.
A Record-Breaking Voyage
The record was set as ONE Innovation, a 24,000 TEU-class Megamax vessel, departed from Singapore on its route to Felixstowe via the FE4 shipping lane. Delivered in 2023 and built by Japan Marine United Corporation’s Kure Shipyard, this 400-meter-long vessel is not only the largest in ONE’s fleet but also among the largest in the world, with a full capacity of 24,136 TEU.
This milestone surpasses ONE’s previous record in December 2023, when the same vessel loaded 22,000 TEU, and earlier, the ONE Integrity’s record of 21,954 TEU in November 2023.
Strengthening ONE’s Global Presence
ONE Innovation operates under the Asia–Europe Premier Alliance (formerly THE Alliance), highlighting the company’s growing influence in global trade routes. The vessel is the first of six Megamax ships joining the fleet, further strengthening ONE’s position as a leading shipping giant.
Since its formation in 2017 through the merger of “K” LINE, MOL, and NYK, ONE has rapidly expanded, ranking as the sixth-largest container carrier in the world with a fleet of over 260 ships and approximately 2 million TEU capacity.
The world record achieved by ONE Innovation demonstrates not only ONE’s operational excellence but also the industry’s continued evolution toward bigger, smarter, and more efficient vessels. As global trade continues to expand, milestones like these reinforce ONE’s commitment to pushing boundaries in container shipping and enhancing connectivity between major world economies.
