On December 19th, Ocean Network Express (ONE), a container shipping alliance between Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Nippon Yusen, and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, announced its decision to redirect ships away from the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, citing the immediate need to prioritize the safety of its crew.
This measure, labeled as a temporary safety protocol, will involve either diverting vessels around the Cape of Good Hope or temporarily halting their journeys to relocate them to secure locations, as stated on the company’s website.
