Lloyd’s Register produce documents for the various International Maritime Organization (IMO) Sub-Committee and Committee meetings. Summary reports give an outline of discussions and conclusions, together with an analysis of the decisions reached. Future IMO legislation papers provide comment on possible regulatory developments. Agenda previews are created before meetings and consist of an examination of the agenda, preliminary timetable, and IMO documents pertinent to the meeting.

IMO HTW 11 – Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping Sub-Committee

The IMO Human Element, Training, and Watchkeeping (HTW) Subcommittee is responsible to the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) and discusses the human element of shipping, namely training and watchkeeping.

IMO PPR 12 – Pollution Prevention and Response Sub-Committee

The Pollution Prevention and Response (PPR) Sub-Committee deals with issues concerning the prevention of marine pollution. Matters discussed here are referred to the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) for adoption and final decision.

IMO SDC 11 – Ship Design and Construction Sub-Committee

The Ship Design and Construction (SDC) Sub-Committee deals with technical and operational specifications concerning ship design and construction, including provisions on tonnage, load line, and stability. The SDC is responsible to the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC).
