Panama Bunker Fuel Sales Down By 3.7% on Year in Jan 2023

Bunker fuel sales at Panama fell by about 3.7% in January 2023, reports Manifold Times citing the latest data from La Autoridad Maritima de Panama, also known as the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA).

Total bunker sales at Panama was 434,807 metric tonnes (mt) in January, compared to sales of 451,664 mt during the similar period in 2022.

Pacific side of Panama

In January 2023, the Pacific side of Panama posted bunker sales of 364,828 mt; 258,455 mt of VLSFO, 69,091 mt of RMG 380, 5,592 of marine gas oil (MGO), and 31,690 mt of low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) were delivered.

The similar region saw total marine sales of 381,770 mt a year before on January; with VLSFO sales at 276,889 mt, RMG 380 sales at 65,954 mt, MGO sales at 5,790 mt, and 33,137 mt of LSMGO being sold.

Atlantic side of Panama

Panama’s Atlantic side, meanwhile, recorded total bunker fuel sales of 69,979 during January 2023; the figure comprised 49,816 mt of VLSFO, 9,676 mt of RMG 380, 5,959 mt of MGO, and 4,528 mt of LSMGO.

It saw total sales of 69,894 mt in January a year before; with VLSFO sales of 47,567 mt, RMG 380 sales of 13,942, 1,953 mt of MGO, and LSMGO sales of 6,432 mt.
