25

As of 8:00 a.m. recently, the Electronic Vessel Registry (REN) is officially live for all users, marking a transformative step in Panama’s maritime digital infrastructure.

What Is REN?

Developed by the Directorate General of Public Registry of Vessels (DGRPN) under the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), REN is a centralized digital platform that unifies over 16 previously independent systems. Its goal:

  • Simplify vessel registration processes
  • Minimize administrative errors
  • Boost overall service efficiency
  • Eliminate procedural delays

Organizational Use

  • Users linked to law firms, notaries, or government bodies should input their details in the “Organization Name” field.

  • This enables organization-wide tracking and management of registry processes.

The launch of REN sets a new benchmark in maritime digitalization. With streamlined services, enhanced user control, and faster turnaround times, Panama continues to solidify its leadership in global shipping registry innovation.
