Pasco Gas Invests In New Medium-Sized LPG Carrier

  • Turkish shipowner Pasco Gas has commissioned a new gas carrier, a 45,000-m3 vessel, from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.
  • Following a new build contract signed in February 2023, the vessel was ordered as an option and is part of Pasco Gas’s fleet.
  • Wärtsilä, a Finnish manufacturer, will provide cargo handling and LPG fuel supply systems for the newly commissioned gas carrier.
  • The Gas Solutions sales manager for cargo handling systems at Wärtsilä, Hans Jakob Buvarp, expressed satisfaction at adding Pasco Gas’s vessel to their list of references.

Consistent Specifications

A new gas carrier built for Turkish shipowner Pasco Gas will feature Wärtsilä’s cargo handling and LPG fuel supply systems.

The 45,000-m3 vessel was ordered as an option following an earlier new build contract signed in February 2023. The Wärtsilä scope of supply is the same for both ships, constructed at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.

Wärtsilä Expresses Satisfaction

Wärtsilä Gas Solutions sales manager for cargo handling systems Hans Jakob Buvarp said, “We are pleased to add this vessel for Pasco Gas to our list of references and to extend our close and long relationship with HMD.”

The Wärtsilä equipment is scheduled for delivery to the yard commencing in July 2025.

The Finnish manufacturer also supplies cargo handling and LPG fuel supply systems for four gas tankers under construction at China’s Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co for shipowner Avance Gas.
