PaxOcean Zhoushan has successfully delivered Martta (Hull No. H1039), the third vessel in a series of eco-advanced container feeder ships to Finland-based Langh Ship. The naming ceremony, held on 12 September, was attended by senior representatives from both companies, marking the completion of a significant three-vessel programme aimed at advancing sustainable shipping.
Eco-Technology Driving Emission Reduction
With the delivery of Martta, PaxOcean completes a trio of advanced vessels, following Ingrid and Lene earlier this year. Each vessel is equipped with Langh Tech’s hybrid scrubber system and prepared for onboard carbon capture technology capable of cutting CO₂ emissions by up to 50 percent.
By commissioning these ships, Langh Ship demonstrates a forward-looking strategy that goes beyond regulatory compliance, instead setting a benchmark for energy efficiency and emission reduction in the maritime sector.
Partnership for Green Innovation
The project highlights the strong collaboration between PaxOcean and Langh Ship. Laura Langh-Lagerlöf, CEO of Langh Ship, emphasized that these vessels reflect a shared vision of pushing energy efficiency and emission reduction further than before. Similarly, PaxOcean Group’s CEO, Tan Thai Yong, noted that the programme illustrates how shipowners can rely on PaxOcean to transform decarbonisation commitments into practical, fleet-scale solutions delivered on time and to high technical standards.
The successful completion of this three-vessel programme underscores the role of innovation and collaboration in maritime decarbonisation. With Martta, Ingrid, and Lene soon in full operation, Langh Ship and PaxOcean Zhoushan demonstrate how proven solutions, consistent application, and strong partnerships can accelerate progress toward net-zero shipping.
