Petrobras refinery for the second month, breaks production record of VLSFO bunker fuel, says an article published in Manifold Times.
VLSFO production record
According to Rio de Janeiro-based oil and gas company Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras), its Paulínia Refinery (Replan) broke its monthly production record for VLSFO bunker fuel for the second consecutive month.
- In June, the refinery reached 148,000 cubic meters (cbm),
- 20% higher than the previous record recorded in May, which was 123,00 cbm.
Reason for the increase in production
To meet the increased market demand for derivatives, operations of its distillation unit (U-200A) and catalytic cracking unit (U-220) were resumed. And this was the reason for increase in production in June.
The company said that with the return of these units, the refinery again has the capacity to process 69,000 cbm of oil per day, the largest in Petrobras’ refining facility.
