Pacific International Lines (PIL), Singapore’s home-grown shipping line, proudly commemorates the nation’s 60th year of independence with the unveiling of its first SG60 Container Ship and the sponsorship of specially designed containers for the 2025 National Day Parade (NDP).
SG60 Container Ship: Kota Ocean
PIL has introduced the Kota Ocean, an 8,200 TEU LNG dual-fuel vessel, as its first SG60 Container Ship. The vessel’s hull prominently displays the SG60 logo, symbolizing PIL’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in the maritime industry. The naming ceremony of the Kota Ocean was held at the PSA Terminal in Singapore, marking a significant milestone for PIL. This event also marked a departure from PIL’s tradition of christening vessels at shipyards, highlighting the company’s evolving practices in vessel naming ceremonies.
Specially Designed Containers for NDP 2025
In celebration of SG60, PIL is sponsoring over 100 specially designed containers for the 2025 NDP. These containers, featuring a design created by PIL employee Ms. May Wee, will be deployed across key NDP sites, including the Padang, Esplanade, War Memorial Park, Empress Lawn, and F1 Village. After the parade, these containers will continue their journey across PIL’s global routes, proudly displaying Singapore’s SG60 milestone.
Commitment to Singapore’s Maritime Industry
As a Principal Sponsor of NDP 2025, PIL resonates deeply with this year’s theme, “Building Our Singapore Together.” Having grown alongside Singapore for nearly six decades, PIL remains committed to contributing to the nation’s maritime industry and future. With over half of its global services calling at Singapore, PIL reinforces the nation’s position as a leading maritime hub.
