On July 7, a crude oil tanker reportedly came under pirate attack in the Gulf of Guinea, near Nigeria.

Heavily armed pirates boarded a tanker underway, which was enroute from Agbami Offshore Terminal to Tramandai, Brazil.  The alert crew sounded an alarm and retreated into citadel.

The pirates left on their own after a while and the crew came out of their citadel safely and regained control of the vessel.  There were no reports of injuries or loss of life from the incident.

The vessel continued her voyage to the port of destination.
