Plug and Play, an international innovation platform with a presence in Silicon Valley has partnered with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) to drive innovation, digitalization, and decarbonization within the maritime industry. Through the partnership, the partnership will enhance Singapore’s maritime innovation landscape through startup support, corporate collaboration, and the development of a vibrant innovator and industry player community, reports MPA.

Utilizing Global Networks for Innovation

With this collaboration, MPA will be able to leverage Plug and Play’s large international network and experience. This will facilitate the discovery of potential startups, the introduction of new technology solutions, and further cement Singapore as a premier maritime innovation hub.

Strengthening PIER71™ and Industry Collaborations

The collaboration will also further enhance PIER71™ (Port Innovation Ecosystem Reimagined @ BLOCK71), a maritime innovation project spearheaded by MPA and NUS Enterprise, the entrepreneurial arm of the National University of Singapore. Plug and Play’s knowledge will advance the corporate engagement and supplement PIER71™’s initiatives in drawing high-potential startups, promote industry partnerships, and accelerate the application of innovative maritime solutions. Moreover, this will also connect Singapore’s maritime system with global networks of innovation to offer more possibilities for startups to pilot and expand their solutions.
