This achievement solidifies Port Canaveral’s position as a pioneer in the adoption of cleaner fuels for the cruise industry. The port first introduced LNG bunkering capabilities in early 2021, with Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras being the inaugural vessel to utilize the cleaner fuel.
Partnership for Success
JAX LNG, a joint venture between Pivotal LNG and Seaside LNG, supplied the LNG fuel for the bunkering operations. The successful collaboration between Port Canaveral and JAX LNG demonstrates the region’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly port operations.
