Completion Of Dredging Operations By Curtin Maritime Corp

Curtin Maritime Corp. concluded its dredging operations in the channel, facilitating the lifting of daylight restrictions along an additional 3 1/2 miles of the channel. This translates to approximately 30 minutes of extra transit time for deep-draft vessels, benefiting the nation’s busiest waterway. Notably, Curtin utilized its environmentally friendly vessel, the AVALON, and repurposed dredged material to create oyster mitigation improvements.

Leadership Transitions And Promotions

Jeff Davis, a veteran of 30 years with Port Houston, announced his retirement as Chief Port Operations Officer. In anticipation of future needs, Ryan Mariacher and Paulo Soares were promoted to vital roles within Port Houston’s executive leadership team. Mariacher assumes the role of Chief Port Operations Officer, while Soares becomes the Chief Port Maintenance Officer, overseeing a newly established division dedicated to maintenance activities across Port Houston terminals.
