The Ashdod Port Company in Israel has launched a new maritime technology hub. This initiative, backed by the Israeli government, aims to foster innovation and attract investment in the port. The hub will showcase startups and promote the development of advanced technologies in the maritime sector, according to Container News.
Commitment To Technology
The hub highlights the Israeli port’s commitment to technology. Since 2021, it has supported 100 startups in areas like operations, logistics, cybersecurity, and safety. Some of these technologies have already been integrated into the Port of Ashdod and international locations like Barcelona, Spain, and New Jersey, US.
The event introduced the following startups: Makalu Optics, TREEDIS, FLYZ Robotics, Spinframe, and Salvador Technologies.
Israel’s Minister of Regional Cooperation and Companies Authority Supervisor Dudi Amsalem stated: “Investing in advanced technologies, such as those developed by Israeli startups, is critical to the Port of Ashdod’s success and improving the competitiveness of the entire Israeli economy…”
