For the 17th consecutive year, the Port of Montreal has been recognized for its sustainable development practices and environmental performance by Green Marine, a leading voluntary environmental certification program in the marine shipping industry.
Announcement at GreenTech Conference
The results were announced at the annual GreenTech conference, held from June 5 to 7 in Halifax, Canada.
Among the 59 participating port authorities, the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) achieved top-tier rankings, earning a perfect score of 5 out of 5 in several categories, including:
- Environmental Leadership
- Waste Management
- Dry Bulk Handling and Storage
- Spill Prevention and Stormwater Management
- Community Relations
High Score in Air Emissions
The MPA also received a commendable score of 4 out of 5 in the category of Air Emissions GHG & Air Pollutants.
Commitment to Environmental Excellence
