At present Mr. Prakhar is working for Bernhard Schulte Ship management as Corporate Fleet Manager –Energy Efficiency. This involves working for entire BSM group and all vessels which are under full technical management – Approx. 350 vessels.

In his present role as Corporate Fleet Manager – Energy Efficiency, he is involved with installation of energy efficiency measures on board vessels starting from installation of LED lighting as well as introducing BMP in terms of energy baselines.

These include both low cost as well as cost intensive measures.

Among cost intensive measures, he has identified suitable hull coating depending upon type and trade of vessels, installation of BWTP, Propeller boss Cap Fin and Waste Heat Recovery on A/E plants. At the moment, he is leading a project for 50001 certification for full BSM group. Not to forget, Mr.Prakhar is a class certified auditor for following:

•       ISO 9000 (Quality Management)
•       ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
•       OHSAS 18001(Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems)
•       ISO 50001 (Energy Management)

As a Technical Superintendent, Senior Superintendent and Fleet Manager, he has an extensive experience in planning and execution of dry-dock projects. Mr.Prakhar has lead dry-docking of various ships in Poland, Germany, Philippines and China. MBA in Project Management has added one more feather upon his cap.

Mr. Prakhar is also a part of BSM training center for knowledge sharing and training of Masters and CEs.  He has attended many internal as well as Class, P& I training sessions for Risk assessment and accident investigations. Therefore when it comes to root cause and failure analysis, incident investigations, Mr. Prakhar has an excellent analytical and problem solving skill with added knowledge of HAZID and HAZOP concepts.
