Establishing itself as a leading provider of Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) Technology-based fibre optic condition monitoring systems, Light Structures AS has landed two contracts with YANTAI CIMC Raffles Offshore. The P-80 and P-83 FPSO units of Petrobras’ Búzios offshore oil field in Brazil will be furnished with the SENSFIB hull stress monitoring system by Light Structures AS. Operating at a capacity of 225,000 barrels of oil per day, these FPSOs will experience improved operational safety and efficiency thanks to the SENSFIB system. Light Structures AS is on track to deliver the first system by November 2023.
Light Structures secures Petrobras FPSO monitoring contracts
Two Petrobras Floating Production Storage & Offloading (FPSO) units, P-80 and P-83, will be equipped with advanced SENSFIB hull stress monitoring systems by Norwegian company Light Structures. YANTAI CIMC Raffles Offshore secured two contracts for the delivery of these systems which have a production capacity of 225,000 barrels of oil per day and will be placed in the Búzios offshore oil field in Brazil. Enhancements like digital twins and carbon reduction technologies will improve both operational safety and efficiency. The initial SENSFIB system is scheduled to arrive by November 2023, followed by the second in April 2024.
