The “Oceandiva London,” an electric event vessel powered by EST-Floattech’s Energy Storage Systems, will sail the River Thames with certainty and zero carbon emissions, as published in Renewable Energy Magazine.

A significant milestone

The vessel’s CO2-neutral operation, supported by a 2.2 MWh lithium battery pack system called Green Orca, has earned it the prestigious Gold Certificate with a Platinum Label from the Green Award Foundation. This recognition marks a significant milestone for shipping companies dedicated to environmental protection. EST-Floattech, in collaboration with electrical system integrator Werkina, is proud to contribute to this groundbreaking carbon-neutral event vessel.

Industry firsts

The upcoming vessel, ‘Oceandiva London,’ boasts several industry firsts and is set to launch this summer. It operates on a net-zero emissions basis, with any CO2 released being offset by atmospheric absorption. The battery packs are charged using environmentally friendly fast-charging shore power and onboard solar panels, while a biofuel generator serves as a backup for longer trips. This vessel will serve as a prominent symbol of the Net Zero Marine Services (NZMS) program, aiming to decarbonize the River Thames in the Capital.

Oceandiva

The ‘Oceandiva London’ is a stunning new event vessel created for Smart Group, a British events company, in collaboration with Amsterdam-based company Oceandiva. Managed and operated by Smart Group, this 86m long and 17m wide vessel is the largest floating event venue on the River Thames, providing 2,625 m2 of flexible indoor and outdoor space across three decks. It offers a versatile setting for various events, including award ceremonies, receptions, conferences, dinners, product launches, and exhibitions. Built by VEKA Group of Werkendam, the Netherlands, the vessel’s energy solution was commissioned to EST-Floattech by electrical system integrator Werkina Werkendam. The project’s financing was made possible by Nesec Fund Management B.V., a specialist maritime financing institution based in Rotterdam, showcasing the pride of the Dutch shipbuilding industry.
