It’s 2021. And we are excited to start it with 21 new pool partners.

Our global partnerships translated to a 28% jump in the number of vessels under our commercial management in 2020-2021. Most notably, we saw a promising rise in pool partners from the Middle East and East Asia, says an article published in Maersk tankers.

Eva Birgitte Bisgaard Comments

Eva Birgitte Bisgaard, Chief Commercial Officer, Maersk Tankers said:

“We are thrilled to welcome all our new partners. We are especially delighted by this surge as it comes at the back of what has been a very unusual and rocky year. It is a testimony to the staying power of pools how they continue to buffer against shocks and provide a platform for open dialogue and learning.”

Driving Force Behind the Expansion

Our joint Cargill-Maersk Tankers MR pool has been the main driving force behind the overall expansion, with more owners and vessels expected to join in the coming weeks.

In a first, and ahead of schedule, the MR pool surpassed the 100-vessel mark (a target originally set for 2022). Gotland Carolina, pictured above, is one of its latest entries.

Business Model

The Maersk Tankers business model hinges on optimizing vessel performance and affording partners maximum value returns, including the ease of flexible entry and exit.

We look forward to a close, long-term collaboration with all our new partners. Welcome on board.
