On June 5, a Ro Ro ship Heji 609 carrying 40 cars and 68 passengers hit a reef and ran aground on the Yangtze River.
The vessel started taking in water and rescue team from Chongqing Maritime Safety Administration managed to evacuate all the passengers and crewmembers onboard the vessel.
The ship was reportedly enroute from Chongqing to Mau when the incident happened near Chongqing on the Yangtze River. Couple of salvage vessels along with floating cranes started moving the vehicles from the affected vessel to another ro-ro vessel.
All passengers and crew were moved to safety and there were no reports of pollution or injuries from the incident.
