Collapse of several containers at the COSCO-owned port of Piraeus, led to significant safety concerns raised by port workers, reports Container News.

Prioritize profits 

The union of port workers emphasized that lives could have been lost if the incident had occurred a few moments earlier or later. Despite the risks involved, the union stated that COSCO continues to prioritize profits over the safety of its workers.

Greek workers are calling for improved safety measures, citing the example of dockworkers on the East Coast of the United States who successfully advocated for better working conditions and higher wages.
