On April 20th, 2025, Sanfu Shipbuilding successfully launched an 11,000 DWT multi-purpose vessel. This vessel was built for the German shipping company Briese Schiffahrt GmbH & Co. KG, as stated in the shipyard’s official release, reports Port News.
Diverse Vessel Types
The vessel in question has an overall length of 149.95 meters and a length between perpendiculars of 143.05 meters. Its breadth measures 23.20 meters, with a depth of 10.5 meters and a designed draft of 8.50 meters. The stated service speed of the vessel is 15.5 knots.
Classification for this vessel is being managed by Lloyd’s Register (LR). The hull number SF130226 indicates that this is the tenth vessel in a series of multi-purpose ships ordered by Briese Schiffahrt from Sanfu Shipbuilding. Briese Schiffahrt’s total order with Sanfu Shipbuilding comprises 15 vessels of this particular type.
This series of 11,000 DWT (deadweight tonnage) multi-purpose vessels is the result of a collaborative design effort between Sanfu Shipbuilding and a Dutch design company.
Sanfu Shipbuilding, the builder of these vessels, is located in Taizhou, China. The shipyard specializes in the construction of a diverse range of vessel types, including bulk carriers, container vessels, and multi-purpose vessels.
