Saudi Ports Authority Launches New GRC Shipping Service

Container News highlights the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has introduced a new shipping service called GRC, operated by Emirates Shipping Line. This service aims to support regional trade demands and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s role as a global logistics hub, connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe.

GRC Service Route and Capacity

The GRC service will link Jeddah Islamic Port in Saudi Arabia with key ports in the region:

  • Jebel Ali in the UAE
  • Aqaba in Jordan
  • Sokhna in Egypt

With a capacity of 2,550 TEUs, this route will facilitate faster and more efficient cargo movement, promoting trade across the Middle East.

Alignment with Saudi Arabia’s NTLS

This initiative supports the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS), which seeks to position Saudi Arabia as a pivotal logistics centre on the global stage, fostering economic growth and diversifying the country’s economy in line with Vision 2030.
