The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Authority announced the successful implementation of the CMA CGM MUMBAI container ship catering service, in West Port Said port, coinciding with the ship’s trading operations at Port Said container handling terminal, reports See News.

Ship’s trading operations

The authority stated – according to a statement Friday – that this operation is the first of its kind in supplying the ship in parallel with the movement of the cranes and the unloading operations while mooring at the quay.

It indicated that the giant container ship CMA CGM MUMBAI was supplied with about 1,750 tons of fuel by the floating supply KYTHIRA of the Minerva company, and the ship’s supply service took approximately 8 hours at the port, while taking all environmental safety and security measures and applying the technical standards followed according to the Egyptian and international codes.

It is noteworthy that the ship catering service is one of the marine services targeted for settlement in the economic zone plan 2020/25, which the zone worked to restore in coordination with the SCA and the relevant ministries and to present it in the region’s ports, and to work within the Egyptian state’s strategy in transforming Egypt into a regional energy hub and restoring its role in providing marine services and maximizing the use of ships transiting the Suez Canal through the Egyptian ports.
