Seacon Shipping Takes Delivery Of Methanol-Ready Oil/Chemical Tanker Golden Banyan

Seacon Shipping Group Holdings has officially taken delivery of its newest oil/chemical tanker, Golden Banyan, in a formal ceremony held at Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding.

Built in compliance with China Classification Society (CCS) standards, including Ice Class 1C specifications, Golden Banyan enhances Seacon’s fleet with a modern, fuel-flexible and environmentally compliant vessel designed for a variety of liquid cargoes.

  • Fuel-Ready: Convertible for methanol operation

  • Engine Type: Low-speed, two-stroke diesel

  • Propulsion: Controllable-pitch propeller, variable frequency shaft generator

  • Environmental Compliance: Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) for IMO Tier III NOx standards

Golden Banyan is designed to transport:

  • Crude oil

  • Petroleum products (density < 1.54 t/m³)

  • IMO II and III cargoes (per IBC Code)
