On 2nd November, 2015 Sector North Carolina watch standers got the call at 7 a.m. that the 60-foot motor vessel Teal was taking on water with three people aboard.

The Guard launched a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat and Cutter Nantucket shortly.  Crews deployed two dewatering pumps but they were not keeping up with the rate of flooding.

The pumps were removed from the Teal and the three boaters were brought to safety aboard the Nantucket.

The rescued seamen were taken to Morehead City.
