Seatrium Limited Secures Petrobras Contract for Advanced FPSO Platforms

66

Seatrium Limited, a global leader in engineering solutions for the offshore, marine, and energy sectors, has won an international tender from Brazil’s National Oil Company, Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras), for the supply of two new Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) platforms, P-84 and P-85. These contracts are valued at approximately S$11 billion.

Project Details

The high-capacity FPSOs P-84 and P-85 will be deployed in the Atapu and Sépia fields, situated in the eastern Santos Basin, about 200 kilometers offshore from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Each FPSO will have a production capacity of 225,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and a gas processing capacity of 10 million cubic meters per day (Sm³/d). These platforms will feature advanced technologies such as zero routine flaring and venting, variable speed drives, and CO2 emissions control measures, including an all-electric concept to enhance energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30%.

Construction and Delivery

Construction for P-84 and P-85 will begin in the first quarter of 2025, with final delivery expected in 2029.

The FPSOs will be constructed using Seatrium’s “One Seatrium Delivery Model,” which integrates operations and engineering support across multiple global yards. Facilities in Brazil, China, and Singapore will manufacture the modules, while the hull and accommodation units will be outsourced and transported to Singapore for topside module integration and commissioning. The completed FPSOs will then be towed to their respective fields.

Seatrium’s Commitment to Sustainability and Efficiency

The FPSOs will incorporate advanced technologies to enhance operational efficiency and minimize environmental impact, reflecting Seatrium’s commitment to sustainable operations.

Seatrium’s global footprint and collaboration across international facilities ensure the delivery of high-quality platforms that meet industry standards and exceed expectations.

Statements from Leadership

Chris Ong, CEO of Seatrium states “We are honored to be selected by Petrobras to supply the P-84 and P-85 FPSO vessels.
