DP World has achieved a significant milestone in the construction of Sokhna Logistics Park in Egypt, with 65% of the first phase already complete, reports Container News.
Integrated Logistics Park
DP World is developing a new integrated logistics park in Sokhna, Egypt, spanning 300,000 square meters. This strategic investment aims to enhance DP World’s global network by providing cost-effective and integrated supply chain solutions.
Located 10 kilometers from Sokhna Port, the park offers direct access to Greater Cairo’s key markets and major industrial zones. This strategic location is expected to enable businesses to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency by streamlining cargo movements.
Scheduled for completion in June, the park aims to drive efficiency, reduce logistics costs, and strengthen connectivity between Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and other global markets.
Regional Trade Hub
This US$80 million logistics hub, strategically located within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), is expected to significantly enhance Egypt’s logistics infrastructure and solidify its position as a key regional trade hub.
The project has already attracted significant interest from both local and international businesses, including companies currently operating within the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) in Dubai, who are exploring regional expansion opportunities.
The logistics park is planned to encompass a range of facilities, including bonded and non-bonded warehouses, office spaces, and open cargo and container yards.
A comprehensive range of logistics activities will be supported within the park, encompassing warehousing, freight forwarding, customs clearing, and value-added services such as labeling, coding, sorting, packing, and inspection.
