CFA Helps Ambos Come to Seaman’s Rescue

CFA

On August 3, report of an unwell man on board a ship brought emergency services to the ship, where the CFA’s platform ladder has helped paramedics treat the crew member on-board the vessel docked in Geelong.

Ambulance Victoria says they were called to Lascelles Wharf at around midday on Wednesday, following reports of an unwell man in his 60s.

The ship’s narrow staircase prevented emergency services moving the patient by foot, so he was transferred to a rescue stretcher before being loaded onto the cage of the platform ladder.

He was then lowered to the ground and taken to Geelong Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The CFA says the ladder platform truck is called out to these types of incidents a couple of times a year.
