On January 18, 2024, the Chowgule Shipyard witnessed the successful launch of the Ecomar, a 5,350 dwt general cargo vessel, marking a significant step in AtoB@C Shipping’s fleet expansion.
Upcoming Milestones
The outfitting of Ecomar, including the final painting, will proceed at the outfitting quay. The launch sets the stage for the assembly of the fourth vessel, Aquamar, with hull blocks moving to the slipway in the coming weeks.
Industry Impact and Future Deliveries
AtoB@C Shipping, part of ESL Shipping since 2018, anticipates high demand for this vessel type. Ecomar is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2024. With a total order of twelve vessels, the shipyard currently has seven vessels in various construction stages, with the last delivery expected by Q2 2026. The recent addition, Electramar, reflects the company’s commitment to environmentally friendly solutions, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 50%.
