Singapore Conventional Bunker Sales Dips 3% In March

  • VLSFO sales down 135,000 mt to 2.42 million mt
  • HSFO sales up 4,000 mt to 1.61 million mt
  • MGO sales up 4,000 mt to 315,000 mt

Less VLSFO sales contributed to drag the port’s total bunker sales 3% lower in March than across February, reports Engine.

VLSFO sales fall

Singapore’s VLSFO sales fell by 3% in March. In the same time frame, HSFO sales in the port remained steady with February levels, while LSMGO sales inched up 1%, according to preliminary figures from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.

In March, 3,359 vessels called to bunker in Singapore, a significant rise of 136 from the shorter February month. At 1,242 mt, the average stem size was smaller than 1,330 mt in February.

The port’s total bunker sales across the first three months of the year were still 11% higher compared to the same period last year.
