Singapore-based Equatorial Marine Fuel Management Services (EMF) has entered into an agreement with Chinese shipbuilder Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore and Engineering (CIMC SOE) for the design, construction, and delivery of a new LNG bunkering and supply vessel, reports Baird Maritime.
LNG order
Upon completion, the ship will have an LOA of 160 metres, a beam of 25 metres, a total cargo capacity of 20,000 cubic metres, and a design speed of 15.5 knots. Power will be provided by a WinGD dual-fuel main engine fitted with an intelligent control by exhaust recycling (ICER) system.
The vessel will be able to comply with IMO Tier III NOx emissions standards in both conventional and LNG fuel modes, significantly reducing methane slip and greenhouse gas emissions during operations.
The cargo containment system is also optimised, enabling the ship to achieve a lower evaporation rate compared to vessels of similar size currently in operation and to reduce operating costs.
The new LNG bunkering ship will be operated alongside EMF’s other bunkering vessels in serving customers at the Port of Singapore.
