The Saudi Investment Recycling Co., also known as SIRC, has established a new marine emergency response firm named SAIL. It will work towards responding to oil and hazardous spills at a very early stage along the coastline of Saudi Arabia, the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf using marine monitoring.

According to the Press Release, the location of SAIL will be strategic, along the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea, which will deliver an efficient and prompt response to marine spills.
The Saudi Minister of environment, water and agriculture and the chairman of the board of directors of SIRC, Abdul Rahman Al-Fadley, commented that SAIL will “support the Kingdom’s efforts in safeguarding its marine environment as well as the Saudi Coasts.”
