Kongsberg Maritime secured a contract to supply design, engineering, and equipment for two advanced, low-emission 15,000dwt tankers for Sirius Rederi AB, reports Kongsberg.

Battery-Powered Hybrid Propulsion

These tankers will employ battery-powered hybrid propulsion and utilize Kongsberg Maritime’s equipment, enhancing sustainability. This contract extends Kongsberg Maritime’s partnership, as they’re also supplying similar technology for a nine-ship program with Terntank, all to be constructed at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard.
