Hong Kong-based shipowner SITC International Holdings has ordered two more container vessels in a series from China’s Huanghai Shipbuilding. The two vessels are scheduled to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2027, reports Baird Maritime.

Order Details

The two ships’ total cost will be about US$57.96 million. Both of the vessels will have a dead weight of 24,000 tonnes and will have a capacity of 1,800 TEUs. The payments for the vessels will be in five instalments and the first one should be made within nine business days from the notice by the shipbuilder.

Fleet Expansion by SITC

This new order forms part of the previous commitment in June 2024 for four vessels from the same series plus two optional vessels, which were ordered in October 2024. SITC has options for ordering up to two more vessels based on the expansion plan of its fleet to serve the increasing demand for operations.
