Skydiving Accident Kills Athlete

Annual golf fundraiser for the Squaw Valley Institute was organised in Olympic Valley where Erik Lars Roner, aged 39, died in a skydiving accident.  He was one among the participants at the charity golf tournament.

All other skydivers safely landed while Roner had hit a tree and collapsed at 9.45 a.m where he was confirmed dead.

Investigations are underway. Notification to Federal Aviation Administration is sent.  Fans and fellow athletes started pouring condolence messages on social media.

About Roner:

  • Roner was brought up in Northern California.
  • At a very young age, he started skiing.
  • He is a graduate with a degree in Graphic designing at Brigham Young University.
  • Roner completed jumps from mountains around the world.
