BIMCO has updated its contract editing tool, SmartCon, with a new feature that enables users to add electronic signatures to their finalized contracts, reads the company’s website.
Docusign system
The new feature uses the DocuSign system – a legally binding method of signing contracts which BIMCO says is ‘the most widely used e-signature solution’.
- BIMCO says that using the e-signature will ‘save time and money compared to relying on couriers to obtain physical signatures on paper copies’ and of course,
- It will also help companies to comply with the social distancing guidelines which currently apply in many countries in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
