- ‘Drones’ will be used to analyze image data using artificial intelligence algorithms to enhance inspection services and maintain the port infrastructure.
According to an article published in Times of Oman, Asyad, Oman Global Logistics Group, will use a remote-controlled drone to examine the port of Sohar for further improvement. This happens to be the first of its kind in the Sultanate’s ports.
Examination of the damages to the Port
The aircraft will be employed in port maintenance and aerial photography. Damages to the port will be detected with the help of this aircraft.
The infrastructures which will be surveilled includes –
- seaports
- marine docks and
- ship-collision barriers
Artificial Intelligence techniques will be used for analysis purpose.
No human intervention
The set up is aimed at measuring the possibility of conducting craft maintenance without any human intervention. This will directly depend on high speed and efficiency.
Improvement of Omani port services
Oman Logistics Center said, the importance of this experiment stems from the fact that technology can be used to improve Omani port services.
It added that ‘Drones’ will be used to analyze image data using artificial intelligence algorithms to enhance inspection services and maintain the port infrastructure.
Thereby, the level of security and safety service will be raised when conducting operations.
Live drone experience
The experimental testing was conducted in the presence of Asyad technology team, the executive leaders in the ports of the Sultanate.
In cooperation with the Sohar Port, (HAITCH-D) company launched a live experience of the use of drone aircraft.
