SOHAR Port and Freezone has inaugurated Allied Ondock Container Services LLC and signed a $2.6 million expansion agreement. This initiative aims to enhance container depot services, improve logistics efficiency, and strengthen SOHAR’s position as a global logistics hub, reports AJOT.

New Container Depot and Expansion Agreement

SOHAR Port has launched a 3-hectare container depot operated by Allied Ondock Container Services LLC, a subsidiary of Singapore-based Allied Container Group.

An additional 2 hectares will be developed as part of a $2.6 million expansion agreement.

Optimized Logistics Services

Allied Ondock offers advanced services like container repair, cleaning, and inspection.

It transfers containers from Hutchison Ports Sohar, unloads cargo, and prepares empty containers for reuse, addressing high regional demand.

Support for Vision 2040

According to Emile Hoogsteden, CEO of SOHAR Port, this partnership promotes economic diversification and positions Oman as a key player in international trade, aligning with Vision 2040 goals.

SOHAR’s Growth and Innovative Solutions

Container volumes at SOHAR Port grew by 21% in Q3 2024 compared to the previous year.

This growth is supported by innovative logistics solutions like the recently introduced land bridge.
