An oil leakage has been reported in the “Marcos Dias” which was berthed at Warehouse 22 in Santos on Feb 5, for discharging 43,100 metric tons of salt in bulk.
A valve failure caused a leakage of 80 litres of oil. The oil removal operation which was underway in Santos came to an end on February 8, afternoon. The discharge operations resumed around 7 pm, after the oil leakage was taken care.
