German shipbuilder Meyer Werft has officially begun construction on Carnival Festivale, a new LNG-powered cruise ship being built for Carnival Cruise Line, a brand of Carnival Corporation. The milestone was marked by the ceremonial cutting of the ship’s first steel.

A New Addition to the Excel-Class Fleet

Carnival Festivale will be the fourth Excel-class ship in Carnival’s fleet and is designed to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) — a cleaner alternative to traditional marine fuels.

  • Gross Tonnage: 180,000

  • Guest Capacity: Up to 6,400

  • Homeport: Port Canaveral, Florida

  • Sister Ship: Mardi Gras

Exciting Onboard Features and Zones

The ship will introduce new themed zones and recreational spaces to enhance the guest experience:

Music-Themed Zones

  • Dedicated to immersive music experiences and entertainment

New Outdoor Zone
