The vessel was enroute from Rotterdam to Tanger, Morocco on New Year’s day when a stormy weather hit the container ship 40 nautical miles off Ouessant Island.  One of the men was swept overboard during the storm and the other injured on deck.

The injured man was airlifted to the shore in France. Lanveoc naval base in France dispatched two helicopters to conduct a Search and Rescue Operation for the missing man.  The helicopter crew located the missing man who died while taking him to the hospital.

The incident is under investigation which has raised the question – Why were the two men present on the deck during the storm?
