Strategic Marine announced the signing of a new contract from OEG Renewables, a division of OEG Energy Group for the construction of Wey Feng, the next-generation Crew Transfer Vessel for Taiwan operations. It is the company’s fourth StratCat 27 vessel for OEG, which is known to build long-standing partnerships and testifies to OEGs repeated confidence in the capabilities of the Strategic Marine group, reports AJOT.

Key Features of the Wey Feng CTV

The Wey Feng is a 27-meter aluminium catamaran, designed by BMT, which is fitted with dual Caterpillar C32 1450hp marine engines. With a fuel capacity of 35,000 litres, this vessel can take aboard up to 24 technicians. The CTV can carry out the transfers safely in up to 1.75m Hs, making it ideal for the demanding sector of the offshore wind.

Scheduled Delivery and Purpose

Delivered in February 2025, Wey Feng will support OEG Renewables in ongoing and developing projects throughout Taiwan and Asia Pacific. This vessel neatly captures the quality of construction and operational capabilities of Strategic Marine with an emphasis on safety and efficiency at operation.

Chan Eng Yew, CEO of Strategic Marine, commented, “Partnering again with OEG Renewables showcases our ongoing commitment to delivering CTVs that meet the highest standards in efficiency and safety. We are proud to see the StratCat 27 platform become an integral part of OEG’s APAC operations, reflecting our shared dedication to excellence in offshore wind.”

Looking Forward to Future Contributions

Strategic Marine is thankful to OEG Renewables for the renewed confidence and looks forward to the Wey Feng as the primary vehicle to take offshore wind energy projects forward, to cope with the fast-growing demand for sustainable energy solutions in that region.
