On September 8, 2024, our company successfully delivered the fourth batch of vessels for the “Belt and Road” project of COSCO Shipping Bulk Cargo Transportation Co., LTD. This delivery, comprising two 12,000 DWT barges and two 2,646 kW ASD tugboats, is part of the Guinea Bauxite project, marking another significant milestone in our ongoing collaboration with COSCO Shipping.
Specifications of the 12,000 DWT Barges
The 12,000 DWT barges are designed with a length of 111 meters, a width of 30 meters, and a depth of 7.5 meters. These barges operate at a draft of 4.88 meters and boast a deadweight tonnage capacity of 12,000 tons, making them ideal for bulk cargo transportation in the Guinea Bauxite project.
Specifications of the 2,646 kW ASD Tugboats
The newly delivered ASD tugboats have an overall length of 36.5 meters, a width of 10.8 meters, and a depth of 4.35 meters. The tugboats are equipped with powerful capabilities, including an ahead bollard pull of 51.5 tons, an astern bollard pull of 44 tons, and a maximum speed of 12.3 knots, making them crucial assets for maneuvering and towing operations within the project.
