In the early hours of Sunday, an offshore service vessel collided with a wind turbine located about 24 kilometers off the coast of Callantsoog in North Holland. The incident happened around 7:00 a.m., with eight individuals onboard at the time, according to Marine Insight.

Swift Emergency Response

Rescue operations were promptly launched by local maritime authorities, including multiple rescue boats from national sea rescue and coastguard services. Two injured crew members received first aid onboard and were later transferred to Den Helder for hospital care. A third crew member also required hospitalization later in the day. Despite the impact, the vessel managed to return to port under its power, suggesting only minor damage to its propulsion.

Investigation Underway

A formal inquiry has been initiated by Dutch authorities to determine the cause of the collision. The local police are currently leading the investigation, although no official details have been released regarding the extent of structural damage.
